Following an inspiring collaboration with Queenbee Press, over the past year more than 60 members of the WI have joined together in small groups to follow a bespoke writing course which has led to this moving, historically relevant collection of personal memoirs. Following many unexpected twists and turns; from a father’s fight with a crocodile in Africa to a letter to a brother who drowned, the description of a seamstress’s early years working in Saville Row to autograph hunting in the ‘60s, colourful, idiosyncratic personal lives and experiences resonate through the tales.
